A knowledgeable, witty, good hearted tanuki (who was localized as a raccoon) and former platform game star. Now, older and wiser, he’s turned to VTubing as his next shot at the entertainment industry.
Riku has a strong but steady personality, being compassionate and goofy, but also somewhat acerbic from his time in the games industry. He is known for his friendly voice, love of food and coffee, meandering stories, way with words, and tendency to make outdated or obscure meme and pop culture references. He enjoys working with and mentoring his fellow livers, often referring to himself as their “cool nerdy uncle”. Due to his gregarious nature and seemingly endless knowledge of the world, Riku has a habit of wandering too deeply into divergent topics that he forgets what he was originally talking about.
Despite his more tsukkomi nature, Riku somewhat regularly engages in gentle trolling of his fellow livers. He is fond of wordplay, puns, and dad jokes, and enjoys when he gets to use them. Riku insists he is not a memelord despite his propensity for making and referencing memes to his colleagues and sometimes posting them on Twitter or Reddit.

Riku’s fans are known as Legionnaires, and are collectively known as The Legion, an allusion to the name of his command in the two video games he starred in thirty years prior to his debut.
His paid members are known as The Legion++, a reference to the ++ command in many programming languages that increments a numeric variable by 1, as well as a reference to Riku’s tech background.
His mascot is Omu-kun, a cartoonish anthropomorphic cockatoo who was concept sketched as a sidekick character for his second game but was cut early in development. Riku has recognized the oddity of having a mascot while also being a mascot himself, finding it rather amusing.
